Meet Dessa! This beautiful southern gal came all the way from Tennessee to find her furever home. Dessa may have big, wonderful ears, but she can’t hear you because she’s deaf. That doesn’t stop her from communicating with her people, she just follows standard hand commands.
Dessa is a Cattle Dog mix, she’s 50 lbs, and is approximately 3 years old. Dessa is shy around strangers, but once she knows you, you’ll be her best friend! Due to her disability, Dessa will do “best” in a home with no children, however she would likely be fine with calm, respectful children (preferably 12 years, or older). She might be good with small animals too, but they would either need to be contained, or she would need to meet them first to see if they get along. Dessa has a lot of canine friends, as she gets along really well with most dogs.
Dessa knows all basic commands sit, stay, come, down, heel, and leave it (all via hand signals). She’s one smart pup!!
